The CRAYE family business was founded around the Year 1880 by a Belgian immigrant worker who came from Flanders to seek work in the rapidly growing textile town of Roubaix.
In 1914, Jean-Baptiste Craye and his two sons Pierre and Maurice started the construction of their factory on what is still the Craye Head Office.
Throughout the years Craye has continued to move with the times: in the 1970's they were best known for the quality of their Velour and Jacquard clothes: they also manufactured cloth for the House of DIOR.
During this time Craye came to specialise in the reproduction of wall tapestries and recreated the style of weaving of the Flemish of the 14th & 15th Centuries.
Today with their new ranges of bed covers, Craye are continuing to follow in the footsteps of a long established tradition.
Now here at the start of the 21st Century they are soon to open a museum to preserve and celebrate their history.
