Created in 1974, Colony is originally established as an Interior Design business. The Company soon becomes well known for its original style and particular awareness of colours and materials. Drawing from this expertise, from 1980 Colony focuses on the creation and manufacturing of furnishing fabrics. The exclusive and elegant fabric designs fuse styles from France; the North of Italy, mainly Venice and Piedmont and the Orient, specially India. Colony today specializes in lampasses, brocades and silks.
From its head office in Piazza del Popolo, in the heart of Rome, the Company distributes directly world wide. Colony's first showroom abroad inaugurated in Paris in 1994, followed shortly in 1997 by one in London at the prestigious Chelsea Harbour Design Centre. The year 2000 sees the opening of a new showroom in the centre of Munich, Germany.
Agents responsible for the distribution of Colony's Collection can be found in all major European cities and Scalmandre are the distributors in the United States.
